Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 August 2026

MyCommit helps high-school baseball players find and contact college programs. Most of the people using it are minors, so this policy tries to be specific rather than broad. Where we do something you might not expect, it says so.

The short version. We collect what an athlete tells us about themselves and what a coach would want to see. We use it to rank programs and draft emails. We do not sell it, we do not run advertising trackers, and the only page anyone outside your account can see is the coach link you choose to share.

1. Who we are

MyCommit ("we", "us") operates mycommit.app. You can reach us at support@mycommit.app about anything in this policy, including a request to see or delete your data.

2. Age, and who agrees to this

MyCommit is built for high-school athletes, who are usually between 14 and 18. The service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.

If the athlete is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review this policy and agree to it on their behalf, and must be the person who makes any purchase. When someone subscribes we ask them to confirm either that they are 18 or older buying for themselves, or that they are the athlete's parent or guardian. We record that confirmation, the exact wording shown at the time, and the date.

3. What we collect

What the athlete gives us

CategoryFields
AccountEmail address, password (stored only as a hash by our authentication provider), phone number, name, profile photo, whether the account holder is the player or a parent
AcademicHigh school, graduation year, GPA, SAT score, ACT score, intended major
LocationCity and state
AthleticPositions, bats/throws, height, weight, jersey number, club team, and measurables such as exit velocity, pitch velocity, spin rate, sixty-yard time, pop time and max hit distance
PreferencesYour answers about the kind of school, level, region, cost and campus you want
ContentVideo links you add, your bio, emails drafted to coaches, and messages you send to the in-app assistant

Almost all of this is optional. Three fields — state, GPA and primary position — are what the ranking needs to work at all. The rest improves the ranking or appears on your coach card.

What we collect automatically

4. Why we use it

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

5. Your shared coach link — read this one

Every athlete has a private link of the form mycommit.app/p/<random code>. Anyone holding that link can open it without logging in. That is the point of it: you send it to college coaches.

The page shows: your name, photo, bio, graduation year, high school, city, state, GPA, intended major, positions, bats/throws, height, weight, jersey number, club team, your measurables, your video links, recruiting status and committed school.

The page does not show your email address, phone number, SAT score or ACT score.

We ask search engines not to index these pages and send a header instructing them not to. But a link is a link: if it is forwarded, posted publicly or left open on a shared screen, whoever has it can see the page. Share it the way you would share a phone number. If you want yours disabled, email us.

6. Who else handles your information

We use these companies to run the service. They process data on our instructions.

ProviderWhat it doesWhat reaches it
SupabaseDatabase, accounts, file storageEverything in section 3
AnthropicThe AI that drafts emails, answers questions and generates insightsYour profile and stats, included in the request
StripePaymentsBilling email and card details. Card numbers never touch our systems
PostHogProduct analyticsEvent names and your account ID

Vercel, RailwayHostingRequest logs

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your profile while your account exists. If you ask us to delete it, we remove your profile, your saved schools, your drafted emails and your assistant history, and we disable your coach link. Some records are kept longer where we have to — payment records for accounting, and security logs for a limited period.

8. Your choices

Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We honour these requests regardless of where you live. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.

9. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit and data is encrypted at rest by our database provider. Accounts are handled by a dedicated authentication service rather than by code we wrote. Access to your rows is restricted at the database level, not only in the app. Changing your password signs out every other session.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that affects your information.

10. What we do not collect

Some categories of information carry their own laws and their own risk, so it is worth saying plainly that we stay out of them.

If that ever changes, it changes here first and we will ask before it applies to you.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
